Mission
  

The mission of the Water Operations Division is to provide a plentiful supply of high-quality drinking water to city residents. An adequate supply of high quality drinking water is essential to maintaining a high standard of community living.

About the Division
   

There are 64 employees in the Water Operations Division. These employees are responsible for operating and maintaining the city's potable water system including meter reading, water line construction, water sampling, and pump maintenance. The city's water system includes former Del Este Water Company systems in Empire, Salida, Waterford, Hickman, GraysonDel Rio, and portions of Ceres and Turlock. There are over 70,000 water connections; 927 miles of water lines in the water system; 129 water wells; seven water tanks,  one surface water treatment facility, and one terminal storage area.
