                                                                   During the winter months the Grinding Crew is responsible for digging out utility cuts, and  bad areas in streets.  Then pave the area back with asphalt materials at a depth of at least 3 inches or 1 inch deeper than original street which ever is deeper. The Grinding Crew also grinds the curb line of streets so the Paving Crew can repave them.   If you have any comments or needs from the Streets Division follow this link to our Service Request form.

NEW!!! Our Grinding Crew has done an outstanding job with grinding streets for the paving crew to pave.  They have ground out 959,322 sq Ft. in less than 5 months.  That includes grinding out streets 3 to 6 inches deep and preparing streets for paving.  The Grinding crew is a major contributor in repairing city streets. 

Reconstructing entire roads have been our latest and greatest accomplishments.  Our Grinding Crew with our asphalt grinder can come in and in one day completely remove an entire block of deteriorated asphalt at a depth of 3 to 10 inches. This depth is usually deeper than the existing asphalt, taking out all imperfections.  The very next day the Paving Crew comes in and paves the road back and has the road open usually by 5pm making it accessible to residents coming home from work.  What so many of the residents have experienced is leaving to work with their road in bad shape,  coming home to their street having been completely removed,  leave for work the next day with the road still gone, then coming home from work to a brand new street.
