One of the Modesto Fire Department's
responsibilities is providing protection to the City's airport.
Station #8 is the home of our
Aircraft Rescue unit. The crews assigned to this station must be
certified by the FAA in airport fire fighting operations.
The Training Division has the
responsibility of ensuring that all the members of these crews receive the
training required. This is accomplished by arranging for live fire
training annually at the Live Fire Training School in Utah. In order
to meet the FAA guidelines, the Training Division provides in-service
training for those at the station and for the other companies that respond
to the airport in emergencies.
